Remove Paragraph Breaks Online

Text copied from a PDF or an email often has a line break at the end of every line. This tool removes those broken line breaks but keeps your real paragraphs, so the text reads normally again.

How to remove paragraph breaks

  1. Paste your text in the box above.
  2. Keep "Keep paragraphs" selected to join broken lines and keep the blank line between paragraphs. Choose "Fix PDF text" to also repair words split with a hyphen.
  3. Copy the clean text.

Example

BeforeCopied text often breaks in the middle of a sentence. The second para- graph starts here.
AfterCopied text often breaks in the middle of a sentence. The second paragraph starts here.

Line break vs paragraph break

A line break starts a new line inside the same paragraph. A paragraph break is an empty line between two paragraphs. PDFs and plain-text emails add line breaks at the end of every visual line, which is why pasted text looks broken. This tool removes single line breaks and keeps paragraph breaks.

If you want everything in one block with no paragraphs at all, use the main Remove Line Breaks tool.

Frequently asked questions

How do I remove line breaks but keep paragraphs?

Paste your text and use "Keep paragraphs" mode. Single line breaks are removed, and blank lines between paragraphs stay.

Why does text copied from a PDF have line breaks?

PDFs store text line by line for layout. When you copy it, each line ends with a hard break. "Fix PDF text" mode joins the lines and repairs hyphenated words.

Does it work for hard-wrapped emails?

Yes. Plain-text emails that wrap at a fixed width are unwrapped the same way, and paragraphs are kept.
